GotASale for Gumroad

Set up Gumroad from your GotASale dashboard — no code required.

Go to Dashboard

How it Works

  1. Log in to your GotASale dashboard
  2. Click + Add Store
  3. Find the Gumroad card and click Set up Gumroad
  4. GotASale shows you a webhook URL. It looks like https://api.gotasale.io/custom-webhook/YOUR_TOKEN — copy it, you'll paste it into Gumroad next
  5. In Gumroad, go to Settings → Advanced → Ping URL
  6. Paste the webhook URL into the Ping URL field
  7. Optional: make up a random word and paste it into GotASale's verification token field
  8. If you set a verification token, add ?verification_token=YOUR_WORD to the end of the Ping URL in Gumroad, using the same word
  9. Back in GotASale, click Connect Gumroad to finish

Connect Your First Destination

Telegram

  1. Copy your Site Token from your GotASale dashboard under Linked Stores
  2. Open @gotasale_bot on Telegram: Open Bot → then send /start YOUR_TOKEN
  3. Return to your store settings and approve the pending link request
  4. Done — new orders will now be sent to your Telegram chat

Discord

  1. Add the bot to your Discord server: Invite Bot →
  2. In the channel where you want notifications, type /link YOUR_TOKEN
  3. Return to your store settings and approve the pending link request
  4. Done — new orders will now be sent to that Discord channel

Slack

  1. Install the gotasale app to your workspace: Add to Slack →
  2. In the channel where you want notifications, type /gotasale link YOUR_TOKEN
  3. Return to your store settings and approve the pending link request
  4. Done — new orders will now be sent to that Slack channel

Microsoft Teams

  1. Add the GotASale bot to your Teams channel
  2. In the channel, @mention the bot and type link YOUR_TOKEN
  3. Return to your store settings and approve the pending link request
  4. Done — new orders will now appear as Adaptive Cards in that channel

Google Chat

  1. Search for "GotASale" in Google Chat apps and add it to your space
  2. In the space, type /link YOUR_TOKEN
  3. Return to your store settings and approve the pending link request
  4. Done — new orders will now appear as rich cards in that space

About the Verification Token

Gumroad doesn't cryptographically sign its pings. A verification token is just a shared word that only you and GotASale know — it isn't a digital signature, but it stops random requests to your webhook URL from being treated as real sales.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to set a verification token?

No, it's optional. Without one, GotASale accepts any Gumroad ping sent to your unique webhook URL. Adding a verification token blocks pings that don't include the matching word.

Does this cover every product, or just one?

Every product on your account, if you use the account-wide Ping URL in Settings → Advanced. Gumroad also supports a separate Ping URL per product, if you only want notifications for specific products.

What amount and currency will I see in the notification?

Whatever Gumroad sends for that sale. GotASale converts Gumroad's price (in cents) into a normal decimal amount and keeps the currency code Gumroad provides.

Does Gumroad's test mode work with this?

Yes. Gumroad flags test pings, and GotASale tags the resulting notification as a test too.
